What You Need To Know

Open Enrollment is Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 13. This is your once-a-year opportunity to review and make changes to your Synopsys benefits.

What’s New for 2027

There are no major changes to your core benefits, so you and your family can count on the health care and protection you’re familiar with. Here’s what’s new for 2027.

Medical and Prescription Drugs

You’ll continue to have access to Anthem’s broad provider network, along with enhanced provider pricing and discounts designed to help you maximize the value of your health care choices.

  • Anthem provider network: When searching for a provider, notice that our Anthem Blue Cross medical plans include the Anthem Diamond Providers designation feature. What sets these providers apart is proven high-quality results at a lower cost. Visit anthem.com, or use the Sydney app to review your provider options and confirm whether your current providers are in-network for the plan you choose.
  • Enhanced prescription drug coverage: If you’re enrolled in an Anthem Blue Cross medical plan, you currently have access to Rx Savings Solutions (RxSS). RxSS has recently added GoodRx to their platform, which means greater transparency and more pricing options for your prescription drugs. You’ll now be able to see plan-adjusted savings suggestions from RxSS and GoodRx coupon prices in one place. This will help you compare and choose the most cost-effective option.
  • Expanded Virtual Visits services: In 2027, virtual care consultations through LiveHealth® Online for diabetes prevention and dermatology will be added for Anthem Blue Cross medical plan members. This is in addition to your existing access to virtual care consultations for nonurgent medical care and certain mental health specialties.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

There are changes to the IRS contribution limits, as well as the Synopsys funding process.

The IRS has increased the amount you can contribute to an HSA pretax on an annual basis. Here are the contribution limits for 2027:

  • Employee only: $4,500
  • Family coverage: $9,000

There is no change to catch-up contributions for those 55 and older; the contributions are still an extra $1,000 per year.

Synopsys contributes to your HSA when you enroll in the Health Savings (HS) Premium Plan, helping to offset your medical plan deductibles. Effective Jan. 1, 2027, the company contribution to your HSA will be on a per-paycheck basis throughout the year. While the timing of the contribution is changing, there are no changes to the annual amount of the company’s contribution. Keep in mind that the contribution Synopsys makes to your account each pay period is included in the above limits.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

In 2026, you can contribute up to $3,400 to a Health Care FSA. This limit is expected to increase for 2027, though it has not been released by the IRS at the time of this publication.

More Ways To Use Your Limited Purpose FSA

In 2027, the Limited Purpose FSA (which is available if you are enrolled in a Health Savings (HS) medical plan and elect to contribute to an HSA) will allow reimbursement of post-deductible medical expenses, in addition to dental and vision expenses. Employees will need to submit a form to HealthEquity, along with supporting documentation, such as a medical Explanation of Benefits (EOB), showing that the IRS deductible has been met. This enhancement gives you more flexibility and greater control over your health care dollars.

2027 Employee Premiums

Synopsys is a self-funded health plan sponsor, which means that the company assumes the financial risk for employee medical, dental and vision claims. This allows us to invest benefits dollars directly in employee care, while maintaining greater flexibility in plan design. It also means that rising health care costs affect the overall cost of the program.

Health care costs are increasing across the country, and, while we continuously seek savings opportunities and work with our partners to manage costs responsibly, there will be an increase in employee health care contributions for 2027.

Our focus remains on helping employees understand their options, engage with available resources, and make informed decisions that support both their health and financial wellbeing.

The 2027 monthly contributions are listed below. Any premiums paid by you, other than for domestic partner coverage, are on a pretax basis. To calculate your biweekly cost per pay period, multiply the monthly cost by 12 and then divide by 26. To calculate your semimonthly cost per pay period, multiply the monthly cost by 12 and then divide by 24.

What You Need To Do

Open Enrollment is Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov.13. This is your once-a-year opportunity to review and make changes to your Synopsys benefits. If you don’t take action during Open Enrollment, your current benefits elections will continue into 2027, except for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) elections. Remember, these tax-advantaged accounts require re-enrollment each year — any current elections won’t carry over to 2027.

  1. Review our 2027 U.S. Benefits Guide to learn more about our plans and programs.
  2. Log in to Benefitsolver by Friday, Nov. 13, to review your current elections and select your 2027 benefits.
  3. Add or remove dependents, as needed. If you’re adding new dependents to your medical, dental, or vision coverage, you’ll need to submit acceptable supporting documentation to verify dependent eligibility.
  4. If you’re currently participating in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and want to continue participating in 2027, you MUST re-enroll during Open Enrollment. Keep in mind that if you have some money left over in your Health Care FSA at the end of 2026, you have until Feb. 28, 2027 to incur expenses, and until March 31, 2027 to file for reimbursement of 2026 expenses. Calculate accordingly when you make your new FSA elections.
