What You Need To Know
Making end-of-life decisions is never easy. But having a solid plan in place for how to handle health and financial decisions can ease the burden on you and your family. Synopsys has many resources to help you prepare.
Legal Decisions
If you’re enrolled in the MetLife Legal Plans, MetLife’s attorneys can help you draft or revise a will, execute an estate, or handle health care directives. Visit MetLife or call (800) 821-6400 (Plan/Group Number: 6090022 or GETLAW).
Survivor Benefits
Use your life insurance and AD&D insurance benefits to provide for your loved ones if you or a covered dependent dies. Financial protection benefits are available at basic and supplemental levels for you, your covered spouse or domestic partner, and/or your children.
Emotional Support
In the event of a sudden death or illness, you’ll experience a wide array of emotions. You may want to consider reaching out to our EAP. Professional counselors are available 24/7 to assist you and refer you to therapists and coaches. You have access to a limited number of free counseling visits a year, per covered family member.
Visit Lyra or call (844) 856-2213.
Other Tips
- Use your medical plan to make preparations for how to pay for treatments and/or maximize your or your loved one’s physical comfort.
- Take the time off you need to deal with the difficulties of bereavement. Work with your manager to schedule your time away from work.
- Ensure that your beneficiary designations for your 401(k) Savings Plan are up to date.
